We are Kristin and Jeff Gaulard and live on the Massanutten mountain in Luray Virginia, right in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. We were married at Sharp Rock Vineyard in Sperryville. Our wedding had a rustic theme including seats made from hay bales. This is where our first wine barrel cooler was showcased. The cooler was such a hit that we made a few more for friends and family.
Our business was born as J&K Barrel Creations and encompasses just the two of us. We started vending at wine events. The barrel cooler was our only product at the start. We saw an opportunity to grow where so many folks loved our product and expanded to making additional wine related products. The barrels not used for coolers were now disassembled and the staves were meticulously chosen to make the wood products we sell today.
A used kiln was purchased and the slumped bottle line was born. We now have an amazing line of melted and lighted bottles. We can even custom etch and customize bottles in an unlimited number of designs.
Our expanding product line is nourished by ideas where function meets form. We both strive to recycle as much as possible and all of products revolved are wine related. We choose to craft as much as possible ourselves and not to sell any commercialized products. Our supply of wine barrels and bottles are from Virginia wineries as much as possible. We strive on detail and try to use the most earth friendly products and procedures as possible. We make our products ourselves. This includes all cutting, welding, sanding, powdercoating, and finishing. The list goes on.
We both are very happy and proud to offer our product line to so many folks and continuously strive to improve what we offer. Stay tuned as we are continuously adding to our inventory of products.
From the mountains of Virginia to you, enjoy the Earth friendly recycled products of Cork to Barrel.

Getting ready for the Winter build. As shows slow down after the holidays, we spend this time getting ready fro next season. The barrels have to be broken down and dried prior to any work being done. Here is a first load of barrels picked up from our friends at a local Virginia Vineyard in November 2013.
